From 20 March 2017, commuters can tap and pay for public buses and MRT using their contactless Mastercard Debit or Credit cards. The transaction will be billed to you thereafter, which means that you can now travel without the hassle of carrying a separate travel card and to do top-ups from the machines.
According to LTA, this will be a 6-month pilot trial of the Account Based Ticketing System.

1. Bookings to be made from 19 to 31 December 2016, or when seats sell out.
2. Advertised all-in fares include the price of the air ticket, SilkAir studio, 30kg check-in baggage allowance, seat selection, inflight meals (where applicable) and associated taxes, fees and fuel surcharges.

4. Advertised fares are subjected to seat availability and may change due to currency fluctuations.
5. Fares quoted are per person in Economy Class for a return trip out of Singapore from 1 January to 31 May 2017.
