28 Jun – Android Pay has launched in Singapore, making the city-state the first in Asia to have it.
The Google’s mobile payment system is the latest to arrive after the introduction of Apple Pay and Samsung Pay early this year.
Android Pay will work on any NFC-enabled mobile phones that have the latest Android KitKat 4.40 and above. That means besides Samsung phones, those who owned a Sony Xperia, LG G-series and HTC One can now pay with their mobile phones. (Check out the non-exhaustive list here.)
To celebrate the launch of Android Pay, DBS/POSB is feeling generous.
